[R] net, p. 277, indicates that smcl in .pkg files should be okay in the 2nd and subsequent d lines (description lines).

This seems to be true when using the -net- command to access a package, eg.,

- net from <url> -

followed by clicking on the resulting package link
or
-net describe <pkgname>-

displays as intended in both the results and viewer windows

*but*,

-ado describe <pkgname>-
and
-adoupdate <pkgname>-

don't seem to like smcl in the .pkg file, and parrot the smcl directives rather than obey them.
Is this a problem with -adoupdate- and -ado describe- ?
More likely a problem with my smcl?
Or do others just avoid using smcl in .pkg files altogether?

Thanks,
Gary
