This is a solution, but it's too late: I used the -hlm-
package to "outsource" the calculations to HLM6, which
writes out the random effects in a Stata format file I
can easily read in. Not pretty, but it goes quickly.
However, I have run into this before, and would very much
like to hear from Stata on why -xtlogit, re- won't provide
these predictions.

I agree that it doesn't sound like too much extra work is needed to
calculate the probabilities using xtlogit.ado as a starting point but
perhaps I'm ignoring something here..

It is also curious that -xtlogit- can't provide these
probabilities directly; it must estimate the random effects,
