It is easy to use a log y-scale, by including a -yscale(log)- option.
However, you get a problem for hospitals with no deaths because log(0)
is minus infinity.
 
Actually I think the general idea is good, my scepticism is due to
what I consider a slight abuse of the term "confidence interval".
