2. less expensive & license in perpetuity
3. stata has dialog boxes if you like those
4. Stata gives immediate results from the command line
5. graphics are superior
6. only typed analyses are reproducible
7. syntax files are more complicated than do files
8. models of binary data are superior in stata
9. you can use any editor
10. time series
11. better documentation
12. sense of humor
