When it comes to MS products, I'm a late adopter. I'm hoping that
my 4GB of RAM will one day be useful, but I'm not chancing Vista
until at least SR1...

Dear Statalisters,

I am wondering if anyone tried to run stata/se or stata/mp under
vista. One well-known problem of windows XP (at least the 32-bit
version) is its inability to allocate large amounts of RAM to a single
application. Specifically, even with 4 GB of RAM installed, i was
never able to allocate more than 1.5 gb of RAM to stata. Memory
management is supposedly much better in vista. Did anyone tried to run
Stata on a beta version of vista, and if so, could they report on the
results, especially with respect to memory allocation?

Thanks

Pierre
