Thank you for your kind help. As you said, I should have ended the
last delimit series with -cr-. Now the problem gets resolved.

front seems to indicate that Stata thinks it is part of the previous
command. If this is the case than you either already have a #delimit ;
before and forgot the ; after the last command, or you used \\\ to
comment out the carrier return.
