This assertion is incorrect:

. statsby _b, by(rep78): reg price mpg [aw=trunk]
(running regress on estimation sample)

      command:  regress price mpg [aweight= trunk]
           by:  rep78



Works fine with weights (or any other regression options; statsby is  
just a wrapper).
