Have you tried my code using -tsset- and the forward operator? All the problems you mention should be addressed by it. In addition, you'll likely learn some useful Stata commands and structures (such as simple looping). That said, I still would caution against dropping observations rather than leaving in the missing values. If you do drop, be sure to -save- your new dataset under a different name, in case you need to work with the original data later. HTH.
