st: Re: adoupdate
True for findit and "ssc whatsnew"; there is latency there. But I
believe that adoupdate should work in real time---that is, if "ssc
describe foo" says there is a new version of the foo package,
adoupdate should see the same thing (it's my metadata from which
adoupdate is working) and tell you about it. (That is, if I have not
screwed up in updating the Distribution-Date, which I sometimes do).

Second, and more likely, I don't think adoupdate and findit
are necessarily up to the minute on what the latest versions are at
SSC, i.e. there is some lag time between when the updates go up and
when the various Stata commands will know it.
