Ulrich Kohler <kohler at wz-berlin dot de> noted a likely cause of the
problem is that Stata was updated, but the -update, swap- for the
executable was not done.
This is also what I would hypothesize. The change adding -_GetQuad- to
the executable was actually made quite a few months ago, but it is
still possible for ado files to have gotten ahead of the executable.

and a (small) dataset on which the problem is reproducible.
