st: from labels to variables

Statalisters,

I have data that I want to transform and I do not know the fastest way to to 
it. I have a variable named cropid and saleval recoded per household

The data set is like this

hhid      cropid   saleval
1           101       2000
1           102       3000
1           103       1000
2           101        200
3           102       1300
3           103       1500

I want to recode the data such that each cropid label values becomes a 
variable. How do i go about doing this.
