Nor was there such an option in any version of Stata that I have ever used. If you name a file "GREGOR.ADO" on a case-sensitive operating system, Stata will not find a "gregor" command. It will find a "GREGOR" command, but it would be tiresome to remember capitalization for some commands and not others. Stata---like Unix, Linux---is inherently case sensitive.
