I don't know if anybody has attempted this. However, if Jesper wants to do so, then the -doy()- function will be a useful tool. In Stata, type

whelp date functions

to find out about -doy()- and other date functions in Stata. Other functions that Jesper might find useful are the -mod()- function (for counting modulo n where n is an integer) and the -int()- function (to calculate the integer part of a quantity such as a ratio). In Stata, type

whelp math functions

to find out more about mathematical functions such as -mod()- and -int()-.

I hope this helps.

Hi statalisters,

an odd question;
does anybody has some code or know how one can easily inside Stata translate
calendar dates from the Ethiopian calendar (has 12 month with 30 days and 1
month with 5 days) to the European calendar?

Jesper
