in fact this works like a charm. having said that, do you have guidance on what kind of std error one should generally set upon in calculating for the kappa sample size?

I also had problems with -sskapp-, so I wrote my own version last year... you can download the package -kaputil- from SSC and use the command -kapssi-.

ssc install kaputil

would appreciate an example of a correct syntax that would produce an output
when sskapp is used. tried to looking up help sskapp but try as i might to
plug-in numbers, i am still getting nowhere. btw, i am still using stata 8.
