1) Is the following quote from a 2003 posting still true?

"outreg was written for Stata 6 and only understands variable names of
7 characters or less."
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2003-04/msg00599.html

I've experimented a bit and it seems to distinguish between
verylongvariablename2 and verylongvariablename1 and order them
properly and so on, but that's not a proof

2) any way to get it to report the first stage of an iv along with the
actual iv estimate? i suppose i could just run the first stage
separately...

3) can i get the marginal effect for a poisson regression? (evaluated
at the mean, for example) if not, i was going to work around it using
mfx but i was hoping there was an easier way

thanks,
r

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
