All,

Would you be able to offer your comments on the effectiveness with
which Stata deals with unbalanced panel data? Looking through the
documentation and past discussions, I have not been able to find much
of substance.

I have been looking at some data which gives drastically different
results when restricted the balanced data and when left open to all
data. Although it is likely that this change is 'true' (a significant
proportion of the data is unbalanced and there is a likely link
between data being unbalanced and the results that are yielded eg.
Underdeveloped countries are more likely to have incomplete data), I
would very much like to know how confident I should be in Stata's
ability to deal with unbalanced data.

Many thanks in advance for any comments that you can offer.
