To all watching, and I am pretty sure Scott
would agree, my advice is to do this on 
a clone of -dotplot-, not -dotplot- itself. 

Once you start messing with official Stata 
code, even if you (think you) know exactly what you 
are doing, you are taking responsibility 
for the consequences.
