Thanks Tom. It took me some time to understand what you are trying to say in relation to my query but unfortunately I still do not understand what you are trying to get at. Please bear with me.

I do understand (and know) that metan command would produce effect size and its confidence interval. However, what I am hoping to achieve (and I've to use Arcus package at the moment to accomplish it) is to generate some sort of a forest plot of various OR's (and their respective CI's) generated from several metan runs, for visual comparison in a single diagram. I am currentlly looking at the metan ado file to see whether there is something that i can use to generate the forest plot that I want (I suspect none but will let listers know).

Kind regards,
bw

True enough, but it does allow analysis of effect sizes (ES) and
their standard errors SE(ES).

For OR's with 95% CI = (LL, UL):

   ES = log(OR)
   SE(ES) = (ln(UL) - ln(LL)) / 2 / 1.96

If your CI is other than a 95%, adjust the 1.96 appropriately.
