You can find ado file _crcepsr in directory stata8\ado\base\_.  
This is an old StataCorp internal support routine and will likely 
not have a help file, thus you will need to read the code to 
understand what it does.

The exact implications of the code snippet you give below can't
be determined without seeing how it is used in the code.
