Hello;
I had been wrestling with the Fisher's exact test for
a 5 X 4 over the past few days and I can confirm that
it was slow. However, I update the executable this
afternoon and voila! - a routine that had taken me 2
days without posting a result before was now
accomplished in minutes!

Try following Richard Gates' earlier suggestion to "use tables with the
number of columns greater than the number of rows" (i.e. reverse your
variables and make it a 4 X 5 table) and see if that goes even faster. I
think Richard's next assignment should be in the area of space/time travel
or something like that!
