After all there is one conclusion for me: Stata is affected by the OS but
unexpected:

PIV 2,6 8 sec Win NT 4 SP6
PIV HT 2,8 26 sec Win XP!!
But XP is faster for me with a different processor
AMD-64 FX51 2,2 7 sec Win XP (Pro)
