I have just tried -xi: logistic .....- on my machine and it works without
problems.
In such cases it is helpful to let us know what version of the executable
you are using and what version of the commands.
I note from:
. which xi
C:\stata8\ado\updates\x\xi.ado
*! version 2.1.7 18feb2004
that -xi- was updated fairly recently. Is your version up to date?

Rc 9 doesn't seem helpful. Is there a new syntax for xi?
