Greetings to everyone,

Notwithstanding bouts of frustration by Stata, I am an devoted user of the
software. However, just out of curiosity what are the strenths and weaknesses
of Stata in comparison to softwares such as Shazam and Eviews? If anyone has
ever used either Shazam and Eviews please offer your comments about their
capabilities as well.

One fo the key features of Stata (and SPSS and SAS) that I miss in Eviews is the reproducibility and the logging of the analyses. Advantage of Eviews over Stata is the possibility to estimate Johansen-tests, then run your model and after that create post-estimation graphs easily. I was not able (but I might be ignorant here) to do that in Stata.
