Aside: Even if the Stata dofile-editor work as expected there will be many
reasons to use another one. Many aspects which might "force" you to use other
editors can be found in http://fmwww.bc.edu/repec/bocode/t/textEditors.html
However you can still be fully confident in StataCorp without using their
editor. I believe that even the developers of Stata do not use the do-file
editor very often.
