Mark Schaffer <[email protected]> asks about clickable commands in help
files and also notes some difficulty using the SMCL tag {stata ...} to load
datasets over the net,

Mark notes that he doesn't get what he wants on the screen and clicking the
link produces an error message, rather than load the data. I agree with Nick
Cox <[email protected]> that the best idea is often to run a program that
preserves the data, but Mark can make his SMCL help file load this dataset.
The problem with the construct Mark is using is that while -use- does not need
this particular file name bundled in quotes, the SMCL tag {stata ...} DOES
need the full command name bundled in quotes. Using

{stata "use http://fmwww.bc.edu/ec-p/data/macro/abdata.dta"; : . stata use http://fmwww.bc.edu/ec-p/data/macro/abdata.dta}

into the help file, works under both Stata 7 and Stata 8.
