We are pleased to announce that starting in January 2004, Clinical Trials:
Journal of the Society for Clinical Trials (instead of Controlled Clinical
Trials) will be the official journal of the Society for Clinical Trials,
published by Arnold Journals, UK. Clinical Trials aims to be a primary focus
for the dissemination and development of knowledge about the design,
conduct, analysis, synthesis, history, ethics, regulation and clinical or
policy impact of all types of clinical trials and related medical research
methodologies. Submissions in all these areas are encouraged. The journal
will be published in 6 issues per year and prepublication papers will be
available online.

Papers are now being accepted for the 2004 launch volume of Clinical Trials.
Please send all submissions electronically (PDF or MS Word) to
[email protected] or contact the editor at [email protected]. A full

Description, Aims And Scope

Clinical Trials: Journal of the Society for Clinical Trials is an
international journal that publishes manuscripts pertaining to the design,
methods and operational aspects of clinical trials in medicine, public
health and health care. Manuscripts submitted should appeal to a readership
drawn from disciplines including medicine, public health, biostatistics,
epidemiology, computer science, management science, informatics, behavioral
science, pharmaceutical science, health policy, law and bioethics.
Full-length papers (2500-5000 words) and short communications (up to 1,500
words) will be published.

The following list is merely illustrative of areas in which the submission
of papers is encouraged; other topics may also be suitable:

* Statistical methods for designing or analyzing all types of clinical
trials
* Interesting design and conduct features of specific trials
* The impact of clinical trials on the practice of medicine or subsequent
research
* Trial registration and identification
* Ethics of clinical trials
* Special considerations for international or trans-cultural trials
* Law, regulation and policy
* Evidence synthesis and evaluation
* Historical reviews of important trials or syntheses
* Education and training
* Issues related to subject participation and consumer involvement
* Economic analysis and clinical trials
* Commentaries or debates on recent issues in clinical trials
* Conference proceedings
