Hello stata friends. This topic was consider early and this is not an
hypotetic sitiuation.

I have an ID variable composed by 10 digits like in the example below and it
was transfered from SPSS. Can somebody tell me what do I need to do in order
to avoid this strange result. I use: recast double ID, but the results
remain unchanged:

Original New (when I transfer to Stata)
1001008011 1001008000
1001008021 1001008000
1001008031 1001008000
1001008041 1001008000
1002005011 1001008000
1002005021 1001008000
1002005031 1001008000
Thanks to all of you.
