Dear All

Thanks to Kit Baum, another new version of the -factext- package is now downloadable from SSC. Type -ssc describe factext- in Web-aware Stata to find out more.

-factext- creates factors (categorical variables) from the -label- variable in a -parmest- output data set. (The -parmest- package is also downloadable from SSC; type -ssc describe parmest- to find out more.) The user can therefore create plots of confidence intervals for factor level effects against the corresponding factor levels. The new version fixes a mis-spelling of John Hendrickx's name in a reference to -desmat- in the .hlp file, and also saves the returned result -r(faclist)-, containing a list of the factors created.

Best wishes

Roger
