st: converting .sdd file to Stata

Dear Listers:
I have several files ending with sdd (*.sdd). A friend of mine told me that
this is one of SAS formats, but I cannot transfer them using STAT-Transfer.
Does anyone of you know that how to transfer this kind of file into a Stata
readable file?
