As part of a larger project, I'm trying to write a program to generate a bootstrap distribution for the cell frequencies in an r X c table. That is, for each bootstrap subsample, I want to save these results in a data file. I think I'm OK with the specifically bootstrapping aspects of tghis problem, but I'm stumped as to how to get frequencies into a matrix or set of variables that I can post to a bootstrap results file. Can someone offer a suggestion or example here or point me to some documentation?
The sort of results tabulate produces would be fine, but I can't see any save option or return list that is relevant. I've scoured the other table commands, with no luck, so I must be missing something. As I'm sure is obvious, I am quite a neophyte in programming Stata, so I'd appreciate suggestions that recognizes my limitations <grin> .

Regards,
