Hello all

Kit Baum has very kindly placed on SSC a new package -explist- for generating exponential number lists.

-explist- is a program to generate an exponentially-spaced list of numbers. The syntax of -explist- is modelled on that of Nick Cox's very useful -listutil- package (also available on SSC), which seems to offer all kinds of lists except exponentially-spaced ones. The list generated by -explist- can be stored in a macro variable, and is especially useful as an -xlabel- or -ylabel- list by the -graph- command when the -xlog- or -ylog- option is used. -explist- takes, as input, a list of numbers x_1, ... , x_n, and creates, as output, a list of numbers y_1, ... , y_n, derived exponentially from the input list, so that, for each i,

y_i = scale*base^x_i

where base and scale are numbers given by options of the same names (defaulting to scale=1 and base=10).

Best wishes

Roger
