Return policy

To ensure the proper handling of returns and timely credits, StataCorp requests you contact us by phone or email for return authorization before returning any item(s).

Stata software

We are confident you will be pleased with Stata’s features, but if you feel that Stata is not right for you, you may take advantage of our 30-day return policy.

Simply contact us by email or by phone at 800-782-8272 or 979-696-4600 and tell us that you wish to return your purchase. We will provide you with instructions to ensure that your purchase price (less any shipping charges*) is refunded promptly. Your return must be received within 30 days from the delivery date of your order.

Publications

Stata Press eBooks are nonreturnable and nonrefundable.

Within 30 days of delivery of printed publications not intended for resale, you may return the publication in its original condition for a full refund (less the shipping charge and applicable taxes*).

Within 90 days of delivery of printed publications intended for resale, you may return the publications in their original condition for a full refund (less the shipping charge and applicable taxes*).

For printed publications intended for resale delivered beyond 90 days but less than one year, you may return the publications in their original condition for a net refund (less the shipping charge and applicable taxes*) with a 15% restocking charge.

Shortages and/or damaged printed goods must be reported within 30 days of receipt of items. StataCorp will replace the reported items at no charge. Refunds/credits will not be issued.

Classroom training

If you need to transfer or cancel your enrollment in a classroom training course, please contact a sales representative by email at service@stata.com or by phone at 800-782-8272.

Transfers

Registrants who transfer to another classroom training course more than 14 days prior to the first day of the original course will incur no additional fees. Registrants who transfer to another classroom training course between 8–14 days prior to the first day of the original course are subject to a service charge of 30% of the original course fee. Registrants who transfer to another classroom training course 7 days or fewer prior to the first day of the original course are subject to a service charge of 50% of the original course fee. No refunds will be given on or after the day the original classroom training course begins.

Cancellations

Registrants who cancel more than 14 days prior to the first day of the classroom training course will incur no additional fees. Registrants who cancel between 8–14 days prior to the first day of the classroom training course are subject to a service charge of 30% of the course fee. Registrants who cancel 7 days or fewer prior to the first day of the classroom training course are subject to a service charge of 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be given on or after the day the classroom training course begins.

Web-based training

If you need to transfer or cancel your enrollment in a web-based training course, please contact a sales representative by email at service@stata.com or by phone at 800-782-8272.

Registrants who transfer to another web-based training course more than 14 days prior to the first day of the original course will incur no additional fees. Registrants who transfer to another web-based training course between 8–14 days prior to the first day of the original course are subject to a service charge of 30% of the original course fee. No refunds will be given on or after 7 days prior to the first day of the original web-based training course.

Cancellations

Registrants who cancel more than 14 days prior to the first day of the web-based training course will incur no additional fees. Registrants who cancel between 8–14 days prior to the first day of the web-based training course are subject to a service charge of 30% of the course fee. No refunds will be given on or after 7 days prior to the first day of the web-based training course.

Return notification

Upon receipt of any returned items, StataCorp will notify the sender by mail of the credit amount and the method of payment. If an email address is provided, StataCorp will also notify the sender by email. Please allow up to 14 days for the internal processing of returns.

*Customers in Texas: sales tax on the shipping charge is nonrefundable. Customers outside the US: taxes incurred are nonrefundable and include, but are not limited to, sales, use, personal property, value-added, excise, customs fees, import duties, stamp duties, and other similar taxes and duties, including penalties and interest, imposed by any United States federal, state, provincial, or local government entity or any non-U.S. government entity.
