A–Z of Medical Statistics: A Companion for Critical Appraisal
Comment from the Stata technical groupOver the last several years, statistical packages that are both relatively inexpensive and feature an increasing array of estimation commands for more complex models have become more readily available. As a result, medical researchers are under increased pressure to feature more elaborate statistical analyses in their published works. For this reason, scientists who may lack the statistical expertise of a career statistician still must understand the statistical methodology needed to carry out their analyses. At minimum, they need a glossary of statistical terms and concepts as they apply to medical research, to serve both as a starting point for further investigation and as a rapid refresher of concepts once learned but rarely used.
